Mushroom Mandala

Jessie Katsukin Takamura painted 'Mushroom Mandala' to create a simple digital art with lines. Inspired by the indigo-dyeing Shibori technique, this artwork plays with negative spaces and limited colours. The repeated circular pattern of mushroom motifs represents the repetitive practice sessions a person does to master a skill. Regardless of one's background, it takes time to improve and see the desired results. It was her fifth attempt to illustrate a seamless pattern and her first for line art. The watercolour effects symbolise the ripple effect of one's effort; when one consistently takes action to work towards a goal, the cumulated hard work will pay off. This art piece intends to boost the motivation and positivity of viewers in the most calming way possible.
